What is the project about?

The Fight Against Love Scam (FaLS) project is all about helping people, especially those aged 50 and above, stay safe in the digital world.

Today, more and more people use social media and online platforms to connect with others. While this creates new opportunities, it also opens the door to risks, including love scams. Many seniors did not grow up with digital technologies, which can make it harder to recognise online dangers.

Its main goal is to give older adults the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate online spaces safely. It also supports adult educators, who play a key role in guiding and helping seniors understand these risks.

The project also looks at the emotional and psychological aspects, such as loneliness or the need for connection, which scammers often exploit. By addressing these factors openly, the project helps reduce stigma and encourages people to talk about their experiences.

FaLS is about awareness, education, and empowerment. It aims to make the online world safer and more understandable for everyone involved.
